ADHD Management

Evaluating and treating children and students with learning difficulties can be a complex and time consumer task. Many children that are diagnosed with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can utilize medical treatments to curve the effects of ADHD. Sometimes, in more severe case, ADHD management may be needed to help with a child’s extreme inattention.

What is ADHD?

As one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders in children, ADHD is usually diagnosed in younger children and will often last through adulthood. Young adults and children with ADHA typically have trouble paying attention, impulsive behaviors, are overly active or can’t simply sit still for long periods of time.

Types of ADHD treatments.

  •  Behavior therapy, including training for parents
  •  ADHD Medications.

Age recommended treatments.

Children 6 years and younger: The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) training in behavior management before medication is used.

Children 7 – 18 years old: Depending on the severity of ADHD, the use of medication and behavior management may be needed together.
